About Prescott, Arizona

Prescott, Arizona houses the downtown historical area known as Whiskey Row. At the turn of the century, a fire burned down most of the buildings along Whiskey Row.

Prescott is a popular retirement community with many avid golfers. There are 4 courses within the city limits of Prescott including the Hassayampa Golf Club, Antelope Hills Golf Course, Prescott Lakes Golf Club, and Talking Rock Golf Club. Even more golf courses are found in the neighboring areas of Prescott Valley and Dewey-Humboldt.

While Prescott is often recognized by it’s western cowboy roots, it is also the location of Prescott College, a small liberal arts school that emphasizes environmental and social justice. Recently, Prescott College has organized Karma Farms (a community garden program), a local farmers market, in addition to many other establishments. Prescott is also home to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Prescott.

Climate

Prescott is nestled comfortably in the Bradshaw Mountains of central Arizona, at a hight of 5,400 ft. Average daytime temperatures are consistantly above 50 °F the whole year, the highs generally are in the high 80 °F range in the summer, and 50 °F – 60 °F range in the winter/fall months.
